{"id":354,"date":"2022-01-30T11:08:00","date_gmt":"2022-01-30T10:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cti-commission.fr\/?page_id=354"},"modified":"2023-06-17T12:09:59","modified_gmt":"2023-06-17T10:09:59","slug":"canada","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.cti-commission.fr\/en\/international\/travaux-et-projets-hors-eees\/canada","title":{"rendered":"Canada"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The CTI promotes the\u00a0<strong>academic and professional recognition of the French engineering degree.<\/strong>\u00a0Since the engineering profession is not regulated in France and there is no institution of chartered engineers, the CTI is the natural point of contact for foreign engineering bodies <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CTI and the French association of scientists and engineers IESF (former name CNISF) have signed co-operation and mutual recognition agreements with various institutions of chartered engineers in Canada, in order to promote and facilitate the professional mobility of engineers between the two countries. The agreements with Qu\u00e9bec are part of the general framework of the intergovernmental agreement between France and Qu\u00e9bec signed in October 2008, in Quebec City, by the French President N. Sarkozy and the Qu\u00e9bec Premier J. Charest: an agreement designed to all regulated professions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CTI and the IESF signed a general agreement at the Canadian federal level and several specific agreements with professional organizations from Qu\u00e9bec: Ordre des ing\u00e9nieurs du Qu\u00e9bec, Ordre des chimistes du Qu\u00e9bec, Ordre des agronomes du Qu\u00e9bec and Ordre des ing\u00e9nieurs forestiers du Qu\u00e9bec. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Engineers Canada\/Ing\u00e9nieurs Canada<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement between the CTI, the CNISF (which became IESF) and the Canadian Council of Professional Engineers (which became in 2007 <em><strong>Engineers Canada<\/strong><\/em>\/<em><strong>Ing\u00e9nieurs Canada<\/strong><\/em>). was initiated in 1999 and was signed in June 2006 and is available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cti-commission.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/ARM_CCI_CTI_IESF_fr2006.pdf\">here<\/a>. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cti-commission.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Eng-Canada_Guide_procedure_IngFrance.pdf\">specific guide<\/a> with the procedure completes the agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In February 2017, the CTI&#8217;s Vice-president, Elisabeth Lavigne, was invited to participate as an observer in an evaluation procedure of Engineers Canada in the framework of an exchange of good practice. It was the opportunity to compare the standards and criteria of both organizations. Both sides concluded that their procedures were overall quite similar; Engineers Canada looking more closely than the CTI to the course contents and safety issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ordre des ing\u00e9nieurs du Qu\u00e9bec (OIQ)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In October 2008, the CTI and the French association Ing\u00e9nieurs et Scientifiques de France (IESF) signed an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cti-commission.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/ARM_CTI-IESF-OIQ_2008.pdf\">agreement on the mutual recognition of professional qualifications<\/a> with the Ordre des Ing\u00e9nieurs du Qu\u00e9bec (OIQ).<br>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cti-commission.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/_arm_avenant_2012_annexe_ii.pdf\">2012<\/a> and in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cti-commission.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/AVENANT2020_no2_ARM_ing\u00e9nieurs_alternatFR_sign\u00e9.pdf\">2020<\/a>, the organizations signed amendments to the agreement, extending it to a larger number of French engineering qualifications.
